You only having 1yr NCD isn’t going to help, nor you having an additional driver with no NCD.

For context my renewal this year was £525. 40yr old, 15+yrs NCD, 10k Miles social and commuting, Kept on a Driveway in South London. My original renewal was £670 but I’m going through a separation so when I took her off the policy it was reduced heavily, this I was told is becuase she only had 2yrs NCD.

All the comparison engines were quoting £900+ but I went through A-plan (site sponsor) again and they came up trumps. SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

All of the above plus parking it on street in the RRS theft capital of the world..... North London is the crime hotspot for RRS theft...the risk potential for the insurer is huge...and you’ve stacked all the cards against the insurer... unfortunately you’re a bad risk profile...

I also live in North London (N6). I renewed my aging RRS for £670 with Zenith via Performance Direct who were cheaper than A Plan even though insurer was the same. Also try Hastings Direct. To mirror others comments , the reasons for 5k quotes are clear in your original post.

Your ll need to secure some off street parking and additional security measures to bring those quotes down.

It’s also worth ringing the best quotes up, when I got my insurance quote on line, the listed places to park simply had on a drive. My car is parked on a drive behind locked gates and at night, there is always another car parked in front of it. They have lowered the premium but placed a proviso on the policy that when parked on my drive at night, the gates are locked. Obviously that’s no good in your situation but it does show that they can be a little flexible. 2012 5.0 SC AB

ill be having the ghost immobiliser fitted but there's no option on the comparison websites to mention that, so i imagine it wont make a difference.

played around with some minor things (e.g. profession, miles pa) and managed to get it down to £2300, however that comes with a £7500 compulsory excess!!

Always phone the insurer. I'm paying 450 a year for my 5.0 SC with 11 years NCD and clean record. Every year they try to up it to 1000, so I phone them and the price lowers at least once during the conversation. The immobiliser might make a difference if you tell them about it on the phone.

I,m sure that the Ghost is not Thatcham approved so will make no difference to the insurer. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.
