Air suspension question.

Just purchased a 2010 RRS on Friday and have so far covered about 50miles.

Went out today and after 3 miles an Amber warning light came on...."Normal Ride Height only" after stopping at my destination and starting up again...message gone......another 3 miles and it's back. I did notice when I gat back home and turned the engine off I heard hissing from the front two corners..and rear.

Engine back on and raised suspension...the rear responded straight away..the front took about 30seconds but then lowered slightly before rising again. Pressing normal ride height and the front lowered quicker than the rear.

I suspect this ain't normal, however any advice would be appreciated.

David

On the dash screen Home menus, press 4x4 tab on left, you will get the screen below, look for any red bars etc above each wheel as an error, my my10 also had same error message, had to remove and service the air compressor unit, the air noise is probably from the exhaust valve on air compressor, some cars lift evenly others don’t from what I have seen, lift into full off road height, leave overnight and see if any corner has dropped, if not then hopefully no air leaks from any corner, if when you start raising or lowering the car it might show as overheating, if so another fault from air compressor, plenty of other reasons but start here first👍🏻

Thanks Paul,

Looked on the screen and no red bars. Just turned the engine on and raised to "off Road" took about 30 - 40 seconds, will now leave to see what happens.

David, did you get a warranty? Air compressor is just under the rear nearside passenger area, if you open the rear windows you should hear when it comes on and goes off, since I overhauled my air compressor I had no faults at all, repair kit is about £75, new compressor unit is around £300 oem, depends on which one you have, newer style is more expensive, if you have the older version and got the newer style then a software update is required around £100, hope this helps, paul

I did have a warranty, however it's going back to the company I purchased it from as it must have been a preexisting fault.

I can hear the compressor come on.

I'm used to doing my own maintenance, but as I purchased a warranty, they can sort it hopefully.

Thanks for the advice. David
