Bushes query.

I had an advisory on the MOT for play in the front suspension arms rear or lower bushes, cant remember. Just been to see the guy who does work on my car...he said I`ll need the complete arms at £200 a side plus bolts cos usually they need cutting off. Is this correct, do I need the complete arms?

Also he doesn`t know how much labour cost will be Rolling Eyes Steve.

I believe that the rear bush on the lower arm is the one that wears most quickly. A lot of people just replace the full arms because they can be seized in and need to be cut off. I would check the prices at placed like AF (site sponsor). I don't know if AF do gen LR arms, but by all accounts LR have a 2yr warranty, try Dan at Duckworths otherwise.

The parts are no where near that price anymore but they can be pigs to get off plus it will need a 4 wheel alignment after if he knows what h is doing he could rebush them or you could get a second hand set from ebay and refurb them your self thats what i did with poly bush on my disco 3 but the arms are better on a rrs Thumbs Up

If it helps Steve, my non LR pattern offside front lower wishbone cost me £282 including 4 wheel tracking ( at about £60)

I seem to recall that the genuine LR part was over £200 on its own without the labour and tracking Robin

£130 a side, supplied and fitted. They are very good with nuts and bolts side of things (mainly older landies) but less so on the electrics. Never the less £130 a corner is a cracking price. As you have found out the sc eats bushes. MY12 RRS HSE

Now all you need to do is fit them yourself.....

took me about 3hrs to do both sides using a ramp and taking my time.. had it aligned the following day near Cheshire farm ice cream Smile it was almost bang on!
