United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue
my turn for the MOT

Had my test at 0645 this morning and its passed with only a failed side indicator repeater, no advisories. Emissions or is it smoke passed; limit of 1.50 1/m and mine was 0.36 1/m. One of these days I'll find out what that means.

Phew Mr. Green .

Well done. It's always a relief that your wallet isn't going to get emptied.

Tut tut, taking it for test with a failed bulb Wink no excuse for that unless your very unlucky and a bulb fails on the way to or at the test centre Very Happy Embarassed Wink

A good result though, always a great feeling when another 12 months ticket is added without huge expense Thumbs Up

It failed on the way. If I'm honest I actually thought a warning might have popped up on the dash, but perhaps it's to old?. Test was £30 and he's old school = trustworthy.

I usually try and book last appointment of the day, when the tester is starting to think about getting home to his dinner Laughing

Usually the earlier you go, the less chance of a pass. I was told a while back that testers can only pass so many in a day. Didn`t make sense to me as surely they can`t fail a "safe" car Confused

Anyway..well done mate, great news Thumbs Up Steve.

You are better off find a garage that only do MoT's or use the council, they sometimes charge more but are not looking for work.

Yes, I use the Council for the same reason. They don't do any repairs, just the test. No vested interest in failing you for nothing then quoting a fortune to do work unnecessary in the first place and massively overstating the nature and extent of works required.

This practice abounds in the fast fit sector according to review sites etc.

Cheap MOT's or even free if you buy tyres etc are a loss leader. If a price is too good to be true onthe face of it there is often a reason. Stick with the Council.

Yeah the one I use is a one man band and doesn't do repairs. He's been there a million year and does early ones which is great for me as it's on the commute route, so no real inconvenience. Don't what I'm going to do when he retires Big Cry
