I`ve always been a user of premium fuels, but with older cars....will the cleaning additives really make that much difference to all the crap which may have already built up?

Like I said, I use normal unleaded (Shell) most of the time with no issues Thumbs Up Steve.

That’s my thoughts too. Super duper fuels in a tired 200,000 mile car aren’t going to make much difference. Or even in a vehicle that’s not been serviced in a few years for that matter. My 16 old 1.8tdci Focus did 200,000 Miles (in my ownership) on Tesco deisal and I could get 600 miles from a tank. I looked after the engine with Castral magna-tech and did every service myself. I think the regular service with good quality parts is what made it last so long and kept it economical. I only got rid of it because the body was rusting around the door bottoms and wheel arches. I really don’t think it’s fuel alone that makes a car more reliable or economical. 2012 5.0 SC AB
