64 plate vs 15 plate vs 16 plate

hi, need a bit of advice....paid a holding deposit on a 64plate autobio dynamic...£49k and done 30k miles (causeway grey and ebony ivory int)
Now for a 15 plate its £5k more for a slightly diff infotainment surround and a 306 engine,
A 16 plate is another £5k extra and adds a few bits and bobs on the inside as I understand

now from the outside they all look the same.. is it really worth 5/10k extra for a 1/2 years newer?
PCP, the GFV on the 49k car is 35, 54k car 37 and 59k car 40

I prob wont buy at end just had back and go for the MY18 which will be 3 years old

the main thing is the deposit, for the 49k its 4k, 54 9k and 59, 12k

So im just asking really is the extra money worth it? the condition of the 64 plate is exactly the same as the 16 plate.

(17 plates still too rich hence not even on the radar)

The biggest saving to be had with a used RRS on a PCP is to get the finance down from the ridiculous 10.9% APR that the dealer wants to charge to something much more realistic in these days of cheap credit. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB
Evoque MY17 TD4 AB

on Grange land rover website, £49,500 8k miles p.a. £5k down:

Land rover finance: £647pm, 32,024 GFV 9.2% APR 8.83% interest
Barclays Finance: £539pm, 36,075 GFV 9.2% APR 4.55% interest
Northridge Finance: £530pm, 36,077 GFV 9.2% APR 4.71% interest

Oracle Finance: £472pm, 35,500 GFV 7.5% APR, 3.7% interest

So Land rover are £175 per month more expensive....lets see what they can do to match.... only downside is oracle wont give me a written quote

It’s all down to what your happy with paying per month as your deposit can be as low as £500, best rate you’ll get on a pcp is with lloyds or Halifax but you need to have had a current account for 3 months & the cost of the car has to be under £60k 3.4% Apr just now.

I would go for the newest one you can afford, there are some 17my ABs out there for around £65k with 2 years full warranty on them, not the insurance backed 2 year one the dealers offer when the car is over 3 years old, which dosent cover everything mainly crankshafts!

Good luck with the search!

the land rover dealer themselves can offer you 4.9% if they want to as black horse have that rate permanently.

i have a my64 and they gave me 3.9% to keep the business with them (listers) last summer.

these cars dont shift as quick as they would like so getting discounts and cheap finance shouldnt be hard,

an example of this is my car sold last june here - http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk/search#/details/2838388

they couldnt shift it so painted the wheels black as sold it onto aylesford in kent, thats some 9 months and still no buyer Shocked

i am stunned that this car hasnt gone to auction as surely thats dead weight for any business! MY18 SCV8 Satin flux silver
Gone:
MY19 SV VELAR AUTOBIOGRAPHY firenze red
MY18 SCV8 Yulong white- perfect 👍
MY16 SDV8 SANTORINI BLACK - perfect 👌
MY64 SCV8 DARK BLUE - nightmare car
MY64 SCV8 FIRENZE RED - loads of annoying issues
MY15 SDV6 FIRENZE RED - perfect 👌
MY12 SDV6 DISCO4 IPANEMA SAND - perfect 👌
MY09 TDV6 SPORT BLUE - lots of issues

great thanks for the info.... my 2010 tdv8 got nicked and the mrs having to ferry the kids around in a mini is not ideal... hate paying more than I should but cant wait 3 months for a new Lloyds/Halifax account to apply

guess I will be as stubborn with the salesman as I am with my kids and not not budge over 5%
