2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black
Sport 2012 rear lights Condensation issues.

Hi all.
I have bought a second hand set of rear led lights from a 2012 sport. I have fitted the resistor and they operate great. They have been fitted to the car for the last few days. They are starting to condensate along the edges on both lights. This gets significantly worse when the sun comes out. At this point they condensate across almost half of the lights.

Are there any fixes that the forum can advise me of. They are genuine Valeo lights not copies..
Any help would be great.
Jim.

Mine do this too but it's never bothered me and mine are genuine as they are on a 2012 car. Only seems to happen if I haven't used the car for a few days or if I jet wash it.
Not caused me any problems as it soon disappears once I drive the car. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

I’m not going to help you much here as I have the same condensation problem on my standard rear lights on my TDV8. I hav3 tried taping up the seams on th3 back of the light cluster in case water running down by the tailgate was somehow getting in but it’s not made any difference.

I do have a bit of crazing on part of the lens and am now wondering if that’s causing capillary action sucking water in. Might you have crazing on yours?

Can't remember if it refers to rear lamps as well, but there is a specific section in the owners handbook that mentions condensation in the headlamps as normal under certain atmospheric conditions.

Cheers

Hi guys thanks for the advice and your own experiences. Is it worth drilling a discreet hole into the lights from the rear to allow the air to circulate in and out of the light?
The lights are actually getting worse than in the pics... they now have water beading inside the lens?
It really take the look away from the car..
Jim

Mine does it too!
These are also genuine units but they don't seem to mist up as bad as yours?, as one poster mentioned they
do clear after some time once in the sun.

Danny

Mine are genuine as my car is 2012 and I get a very fine mist inside them if I haven’t used the car all week and it’s been wet or if I’ve had the jet wash out but it soon clears if the sun comes out or the car is used with lights on.

The pictures posted up look like failed light seals as they are very wet looking compared to what I get in mine. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Well mine seems to be a serious contender for the “worst condensation” award. So I’ve drilled 2 small holes to see what difference it makes. Difficult to tell at the moment what with the snow and all... Smile Robin
