Recalls??

1.what recall means?
2.what will be done during recall?
3.why we have recalls?
4.who is responsible for recall initiative the customer or the manufacture
5.in other words who did discover the defects or malfunctioning customer or dealer?
6.Does any new models will be free from the previous recalls issues?
7.Does the dealer pay for the repair even the after warranty period for recall issue was not attends by customer?
8.How the customer is being informed about the recall?
9.Does to many recalls means low quality control during production?

sportman - sorry, but too many questions to answer and Bobby did sum it up pretty well Smile

1) Basically recalls are called for safety related issues
2) countermeasure to solve the problem - this may mean replacement of a part or possibly a software update etc
3) as answer 1 - for safety reasons
4) Manufacturer & Dealer
5) Some faults are found by the customer and some by the parts manufacturer or dealer, however recalls are still the responsibility of the Manufacturer (i.e. Landrover in case of the RRS)
6) Normally this is correct
7) Yes
Cool Via the dealer or UK agency of the manufacturer (ie. BMW UK, Merc UK etc) or via the national press etc. There are also government websites that list all recalls
9) Not necessarily - some problems occur with the parts supplier which cannot be recognised easily during the build process.
