New rims

So I have sourced a set of 19" rims for off road use to save damage on my road going 20". My question is can I swap over the TPMS sensors or do I just ignore the warnings on the dash

Why not just buy another set of sensors and fit to the new rims ?, or alternatively as the TPMS system in a RRS1 is pretty useless anyway, why not just de-activate it in the CCF files.

Cheers

Yup was thinking along the same lines, TBH the TPMS on my RRS (2011) is pretty much spot on with no errors.
If I buy new sensors is it a case of re-coding only?

The car should recognize the new sensors automatically, If I remember correctly just fit the wheels leave the car for a few minutes, then drive car and once you have done a few Km's over 20mph it will automatically code them. When you fit the new sensors make a note of the serial no. of each one and wheel position so if there is a problem you can get them coded to the car using a diag. tool.

The factory TPMS system in SA cars must be better than UK then, as you can't check the actual pressures via dash menu or anything else, all it does is tell you which tyre is low, there are no actual pressure readings at any point, start up or other wise, even then the pressure has to drop to at least 25psi before you get a warning light, and mines a RRS1 MY13 car.

Cheers

Thanks Col, the TPMS here is the same here, no actual reading just a warning on low pressure . I like that as on a long gravel road it warns you of an issue before you completely destroy the tyre.
