Get a battery immobiliser ( Richbrook Car Battery Discarnect / Disconnect Immobiliser). This disconnects the battery but still allows current to feed radio programming, alarm etc only £10.45. Just unscrew knob & stick it in your pocket or even the glove box
Search ebay CAR BATTERY IMMOBILISER

There are Wifi home-alarm systems that have battery driven remote motion/infrared sensors. If your car is within your home's Wifi range you could place one (or more) in the car or near the car/drive.

Being independent of the car's systems any attempt to over-ride the car's electronics won't stop it.

These things can be set to remote cameras, operate lights etc.

Maybe for the long term get a Ghost system which immobilises the car and is undetectable and can only be bypassed by pressing a predetermined sequence of buttons in the car itself.

Also obvious but make sure you Superlock it, then even if they break the window they can't open the doors.

Finally maybe get a big Censored off dog and leave it in the car! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

Dogs are great for alerting owners to unusual noise etc, my bulldog is soft as they come but is a great noise maker.

However If they want the car badly enough the dog will be poisoned, and that ll be that.

I’ve placed several trained guard / attack dogs over the years and we ve looked at various ways to mitigate the risks of poisoning without a handler present without much success.

Take the advice offered above - ghost / tracker / steering lock.

If you already have an alarm at home the supplier might be able to provide some radio linked battery powered detectors in the car - this approach has been used by motorhome owners to protect their vehicles and is very effective because pro-grade detection has a lot of built in checks and balances to maintain the radio connection and monitor signalling.

That said the installer will need a bit of ingenuity for maximum benefit.

In the event you have a home alarm and it is linked to a monitoring station you would be informed if your vehicle had been broken into or moved out of range.

And of course the house alarm siren would also be making an awful lot of noise.... Thumbs Up... and those tend to get the neighbours looking in a way that car alarms just don't.

I wouldn't use my gun to stop someone stealing a car. It's just a f'ing car, for Pete's sake! It's why we have insurance...

You’re a licensed gun owner are you?! Next time your local firearms officer comes to inspect your set up , mention your intention to shoot anyone trying to steal your car would you..... Rolling with laughter you could do a Tony Martin I suppose , that seemed to work out well for him . 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR

@ozzievechi

how does having the attitude that your insured let them get away with it? Whether you are insured or not, they have still stolen it, you can claim on the insurance for the kids car seats, as for drawings, how much does a sheet of A4 cost and a few microns of wax crayon? Isn't it better to be covered and claim replacement value, than run around and way you fist at them (or gun if you have one that doesn't have NERF written on the side Wink )

As for your tone of reply towards RRSTDV8, that sort of thing isn't tolerated towards forum members and as such you'll be banned if it continues Rolling Eyes

Granted his tone may be sharpe but his point is right.
Police ignore car crime and just issue a crime number for your insurance, they are not interested as your insured
Now police are taking same view to house burglary
These scumbags know that police are not interested and can operate with impunity
