France 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Maya Gold
Problems, problems - limp mode etc.etc...

2006 Sport misbehaved on the way down to Spain towing light caravan.
• Limp mode a few times
• Towing up long gradients in low gears with high revs (3/4000) didn't cause a problem
• Accelerating with the caravan from a 'standing start' causing juddering/surging as though the caravan brake/s might have been binding - they weren't - drums were cold
• Rev counter very noticeable not staying steady - okay when stationary but continuously fluctuating/surging when on a flat road and with an even throttle
• An Overall lack of power
• Getting Engine System Fault showing on the dash message area at various time while driving or at start up.
• Recently had a computer and smoke test done so all would seem to be working okay
ANY THOUGHS AS TO THE PROBLEM

Regards from a sunny Spain Andrew Kennedy

Surging revs could be a torque converter/gear box issue. Otherwise the usual suspects of split intercooler pipes, sticky turbo actuator or EGR valve playing up. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Don't misunderstand me!! Its always a worry not knowing what the problem is, as it is with ones health!! Being giving a good explanation as to what is might be is a relief - that's what I meant. Just got to take the drive back to my guy in Brittany and hopefully he will sort it. Andrew Kennedy
