Flat battery on friends drive...How can I lock the car?

Hi my battery went dead on friends drive. Tried to jump it but no joy. I took the battery home to charge it up but the car remains unlocked. I know now one is going to drive away with it without a battery however would prefer to lock it. It wouldn't lock with the fob just kept beeping.
Can anyone help?

Can you not lock the driver's and rear passenger doors manually from inside and then exit the vehicle and lock the front passenger door using the key in the emergency key hole?

The rear hatch won't open without power so that should be secure. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Can’t you use the emergency unlock facility using the key in the passenger side door handle. Manually lock the doors from the inside then exit via passenger door and lock that on the key. I’ve not tried this but my logic says it should work. Robin
