There are Wifi home-alarm systems that have battery driven remote motion/infrared sensors. If your car is within your home's Wifi range you could place one (or more) in the car or near the car/drive.

Maybe for the long term get a Ghost system which immobilises the car and is undetectable and can only be bypassed by pressing a predetermined sequence of buttons in the car itself.

Dogs are great for alerting owners to unusual noise etc, my bulldog is soft as they come but is a great noise maker. However If they want the car badly enough the dog will be poisoned, and that ll be that. I’ve placed several trained guard / attack dogs over the years and we ve looked at various ways to mitigate the risks of poisoning without a handler present without much success. Take the advice offered above - ghost / tracker / steering lock. Regards 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR |

If you already have an alarm at home the supplier might be able to provide some radio linked battery powered detectors in the car - this approach has been used by motorhome owners to protect their vehicles and is very effective because pro-grade detection has a lot of built in checks and balances to maintain the radio connection and monitor signalling. That said the installer will need a bit of ingenuity for maximum benefit. In the event you have a home alarm and it is linked to a monitoring station you would be informed if your vehicle had been broken into or moved out of range. And of course the house alarm siren would also be making an awful lot of noise.... ... and those tend to get the neighbours looking in a way that car alarms just don't. |

You’re a licensed gun owner are you?! Next time your local firearms officer comes to inspect your set up , mention your intention to shoot anyone trying to steal your car would you..... you could do a Tony Martin I suppose , that seemed to work out well for him . 2019 Svr and 2019 R35 GTR |
