CTEK towpug connector. Anyone use one?

Had to turn out home start for the RRS today. It started on a jump pack and the chap tested the battery and alternator and both ok (big sigh of relief). Short journeys and heated seats etc probably the cause.
It's currently on my CTEK which should do the job, but doing this every couple of months could end up a PITA.
I have the black and white covered tow plugs on my car and have had a look at the tow plug charge connector in the forum shop and a couple of these;

Does anyone have any experience of one of using one of these connectors?

I try to charge mine up once a week really to keep topped up.
On a day I don't tend to use it. Need to remember to disconnect it though!

I never quite understand who those ctek towplugs are meant for? Those that tow alot with the cover always off I assume?

I hardwired a cTEK connector behind the rear boot trim on the left. (to the tow connection brown/green wire). Trap thin mains extension lead in tailgate seal.

I use one and it’s a top bit of kit, just plug it in the tow electrics and leave the car locked. Just remember to disconnect before driving off! Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

Thanks for the feedback. I'm not confident enough to cut into the wiring though.
I think I will need to print up an A4 card that I can strap over the steering wheel to remind me to disconnect it before driving off Very Happy

charging through the tow bar is excellent and very easy. I only cover around 5-6k a year and nearly always use remote heat through winter, so I like to top up the battery every week.
The adaptors through the site already come with a small laminated card, warning the charger is connected. MY12 RRS HSE

The connector is a good bit of kit. Got one that I use with my Ctek. Thumbs Up

Saves closing door seals over wires, certainly. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I'm another very satisfied user. Use it every week or so during winter.

Hi,
don't have a Ctek but an old Optimate bike charger, so works in the same way, always charge our car via the twin elec tow plug
Made my own adaptor with an S plug, inline fuse and a two pin connector, but easy to get one via the Shop Thumbs Up

but I don't understand why peeps keep having to modify or buy different 1/4 turn clips Question
All mine (4 cars) have been easy to turn, maybe a 2p coin needed, current one just one finger and thumb,
it takes me about 10 seconds to turn the clips remove the panel and put the plug in

don't think you will need to cut any wires if you have the sockets already

Andy K has hardwired a CTEK connector onto the (tow bar?) wiring in the boot which is a very elegant and cost effective solution Bow down but beyond my technical abilities even with the photo's he kindly sent me.
There is nothing wrong with the clips, yes they turn easily with a coin, but I find I have to kneel down to see the slots, not preferable with my knees, so anything that helps is OK by me. Plus it's a low tech gadget Very Happy
