But PHEVs are not fun to drive Muddy, I have driven a few as rentals and they are dynamically conservative.

Quote:
Less than 10% of Outlanders suffered a fault; the areas affected were bodywork, brakes, engine electrics and non-engine electrics, all in equal measure. Almost 75% of cars were fixed in less than a day and all were fixed for free in less than a week.

Worryingly, 60% of Range Rover Sport diesels had problems. They spanned a wide range of areas, the most serious of which were the gearbox, drivetrain, engine and suspension. Not all cars were fixed under warranty and some were off the road for more than a week.

Some actual figures from a Disco owner who switched after a very impressive list of LR's too Wink

Yes I was disappointed to see Tesla doing so badly Sad

Swmbo had a Mini One when I had MY10 RRS and it gave no trouble and was nicely built Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

It does look like a mis matched comparison, older Disco against fairly new Outlander. What was the mileage covered by each?
A new DS would be fairer, no mot, warranty to cover parts and a 3 year service plan to servicing plus cheaper tax and insurance. No doubt the Outlander will be cheaper to run but does it really compete with the DS ? A better comparison with it might be a Honda CRV or a

He swapped a Discovery 4 for an Outlander PHEV so the figures reflect this and as I understand it same miles pa - If he owned Honda CRV I guess he could of done figures for that Confused

I think I posted figures for DS against Outlander a while ago but will check - and yes the Outlander competes with the DS and thrashes it IMHO having owned both and so does the service from Mitsubishi Dealers Bow down Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

So he's comparing a 7 seater, with serious off road performance against a smaller vehicle capable of crossing a bit of grass or 6 inch puddle. Yes, he is spending much less on his motoring now because he has changed to a vehicle with completely different capabilities at half the price.

Muddy is too busy ticking off the days when he can get rid of his milk float without having to pay the government back the money they bribed him with to buy one. Laughing
I'm sure he will have already started his search for its replacement. Very Happy

Nothing of interest to report - coming up for 15k miles/16 months with no problems and saving loads of dosh on fuel, etc Mr. Green

Still got 44 months of Mitsubishi warranty left and next 2 services covered on pack so not feeling like a change anytime soon but if I was it would be another phev for me - just checked value and looks like I'd lose £6k if I sold it private/£7k px which is pretty good compared to previous RRS and DS Cool

Haven't driven the Lexus for months due to weather and hernia problem - depreciation appears to be about £2k private/£3k px if I decide to sell - once better weather returns and I recover from surgery I'll probably keep it though Confused

Reading all the LR issues and depreciation posts I'm still sure I did the right thing Thumbs Up Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW
