Sat Nav update latest

I am very excited to be picking up my 2009 facelift RRS in February and in anticipation I have sent out a few emails to dealers on getting the sat nav updated. I have had one back stating that the latest maps that they can download is 2014/15 which means it is already 3/4 years out of date. I know this is usually a 2 hour job and can be done for between £150 and £200 based on previous posts(which did mean an up to date system). This dealer wants the car for the whole day and is asking £264 for a 3/4 year old map !!

Does anybody know if this is the most up to date maps that you can get because if so I may as well get a Tom Tom instead !! Rolling Eyes Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Get a Tom Tom. At least you can keep it up to date and also move it between vehicles if required. The LR sat nav is pretty useless even if the maps were bang up to date. Whistle

I use Google Maps and CoPilot sat nav app on my phone. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Mine is the facelift and so can only be updated at dealers and plugged into their machine, which must be shaped like a barrel because it feels like they have you over one Laughing So my only options are update or Tom tom as RRSTDV8 says. The facelift 2009 to 2011 is sandwiched between when a disc was used on pre facelift models and late 2012 facelifts when the USB came into play as with yours......it's a real pain !!! Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

My car does not have the disc update, it is only via dealership plug in as stated previously. Big Cry Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.

Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

We have had the same problem down here in Australia. There doesn't appear to be any recent updates available . Mad
Agree with the fact that the RR Sat Nav in pre 2012 models is very ordinary compared to Garmin & Navman which we use.
They have many more features and can be automatically updated easily.
A couple of years ago I actually mounted a 7" Navman in the space in front of the LR display screen.
Hope this helps 2006 4.2 S/C with Tow Pack, Side Steps, DRL's, 19" & 20" wheels, additional 110 ltr Fuel Tank Roof Rack and performance mods.

1952 Rover 75 (Cyclops) First Car !!! Fond memories -was restored-good for 93mph.

Don't bother with the disc it's useless, use your phone or Tom Tom they are much better and have live updates/live traffic whereas the disc doesn't. 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?
