RRS Hybrid P400 - LR virgin!

Hi

I'm new to this forum and to Land Rover having never owned one but really would want one

Assuming its a bad time to buy diesel I'm wanting the RR P400e - either sport or full fat (haven't quite decided yet)

However I'm hearing the hybrid has been delayed and they are having issues - does anyone know if this is true and how long we might be looking at?

Secondly between the RRS FF and the Sport:
- Has anyone owned both recently (long shot I know) and could provide any recommendations?
- Is the 2.0 ingenious petrol engine going to find t difficult to pull such a heavy car - especially the FF?
- Has anyone tried putting a multi mac in the back of any of these cars (I know, I know, don't shoot me down, I have young kids who 1-2 times a week will be in this car with me)

thanks

Hello mate

i have placed an order for a plug in a few weeks ago and was told the other day that they are still waiting on LR for an allocation. Can you tell me what issues LR are having with the plug-in ?

I'm not sure - local RR garage have told me they are having some QA issues with the hybrids. Not sure if its related to the hybrid technology but I assume it is given the non P400s are being delivered as planned

I have also heard they can be a bit sluggish when in non-hybrid or non-electric mode (i.e. when using petrol only)

It's worth reading today's Sunday Times review of the Range Rover hybrid. Seems like there are issues getting the petrol and electric power units to work together seamlessly.

I have the RRS Hybrid 1st Generation and I read and tested anyting around.

The Hybrid (and Plug in Hybrid) System Comes from ZF, they producing the similar module for BMW (X5 40e), and for a lot of other cars.
This means, the System itself is working and tested properly since years in the market.

The only "to do" for LR engineers is, to adjust the drivetrain for smoothness between elctric drive, hybrid drive and engine only drive. They got this well for my RRS 1st gen. Hybrid, so it will be fine also for the new one.
