Amber marker lamps in headlamp units

Hi,

Having taken the headlamps out of my '07 the other day, I noticed that there is provision for amber marker lamps at the side, but there is no wiring/fittings. Fair enough, but I've noticed that more recent LR products have them lighted.

Were these included just for export markets and/or has there been a change in regulations to require them? I can't see any reason to make them functional but they must have been there for a reason.

Just curious!

They are put in for different markets you can get them going the bulb holder should be there but you need to drill out the holder if they are the same as a disco 3 and the lights are like the ones you get on the discovery 2 Thumbs Up

I'm not sure whether I really need them - they might look a bit, ahem, 'foreign'. I do have a few Discovery 2 bits in the shed - a naive attempt to keep fitting parts as quick as they fell off.

When I drove Saabs I found a cut-out in the side/indicator unit that would throw light to the sides when reverse was engaged - illegal but b****y useful and well worth ten minutes with a Dremel! "I am never content until I have constructed a model of the subject I am studying. For USA

No bulb holders present on the RRS.
No drilling required.

Have fitted them to mine.

It's just a small square that lights up in the middle of the reflector.

Looks a tad boy racer but useful when inching out my drive.
