England 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Lux Java Black

Thanks everyone for the input and opinions......I read on the D3 forum that indeed the Dr Tranny although seems a miracle answer it actually swells the seals and helps to increase oil pressure in the gearbox "masking" the problem ! so For me the Dr Tranny is a definite NO NO . As for getting this job done I've approached another local dealer and getting it diagnosed as it being the TC . So I may bite the bullet and get it done ! As I've invested quite a bit of money in this car over the past 3 years I intend to keep the car for some time yet ! You either love em or hate them ! And I love em !

If you put the Dr Tranny in and it cures it, wouldn't it be a cheap but definite way of proving its the torque converter. At least you wouldn't be spending nearly £3000 on a maybe.

Ok so local dealers have had car in for full diagnostic on this shudder ......suggestion is a gearbox flush (mega flush ) total 16 litres of oil flushed through. They will also replace bottom gearbox pan with filter ! Cost for this is £1.120 incl vat . Here's a question to throw out there .....18 months ago 10.000 miles ago I had the gearbox oil and filter changed but as we know only 4 litres of new oil was replaced which would have mixed with the old oil that couldn't be drained off . So if I go ahead with this mega flush should I still have the oil filter changed as part of this mega flush or should I cut the cost by just having the flush through because in thiery the oil filter is quite new

No you don't need another filter.

I'm sure their charge of £1000 is half the cost of a gearbox replacement ! So think sensibly! A flush may only last a year!

I'm sure you can get a flush for less than £300.

Alfie £1,120 is just taking the Censored !

There is a well thought of Land Rover Indy in Wellingboroug, so only a 35/40 minute drive away.

They have a mega flush priced up at £290............

Consult JGS 4x4 near Kettering. They know these cars very well and can give you professional advice.

I had my 2005 HSE remapped and the gearbox powerflushed by them and highly rate them.

I had JGS do a megaflush on mine, they also put in an oil conditioner and Dr tranny (at my request), just as preventative as I didn't have any problems with the box or torque converter. They reset the gearbox and gave the underside bushes ect a once over. Nice guys and let me watch them do the job, my oil was black, total cost £275.00

Yeah definitely will let you all know how this affects the shudder . It's not booked in until I'm on holiday in early February so a few weeks yet ! But what a massive saving and the guy I spoke to on the phone was very pleasant and helpful 👍👍
