Started one my usual fresh maintenance regime do it whenever I get a car. Any way dropped the diff and transfer oils rear diff oil quite clean same with the transfer box came to the front Diff and the oil was red like ATF fluid just hope to god it's not or are some diff oils red. Next gearbox either a flush or just a standard fluid change. I was chatting to my local indy in the pub last night and he said there's not a great deal of difference in fact when he dose it he fits a new sump pan and renewable filter for around £220. If it ain't broken down it soon will

Think I see a pattern here

There is a great deal of difference between a flush and just a fluid change on the gearbox. Dropping the pan and changing the filter (having "drained" the oil) will still leave more than half of the original oil in the torque converter. A flush changes almost all of the oil. Sounds like your indie doesn't know the gearbox very well... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
