It's a good practice to glue them during fitment.. You're lucky that they didn't pop-off.. Here in Istanbul most of RRS's don't have them Smile I glue new ones and they last forever Smile One life, live it...

fitted as per factory, took a few minutes once the area was cleaned, so cheap anyway no point in glueing

Just a little update for general entertainment....a few years later!

My car (MY10 TDV8) is at the dealer for a new steering rack and I asked them sort out the warped rubber arch protectors. Apparently they were dealer fitted, not factory fitted, and are therefore not covered by warranty. My dealer tells me they don't really do anything.

I was told that there is an LR bulletin advising that when they warp they should be removed?!

Has anyone come across anything different? I haven't actually seen the LR bulletin and would like to cross check what I'm being told somehow.

All sounds a bit odd to me!

Bullshit! Fitted at the factory and not at dealership from new! They need replacing every few years when they start warping. Remove, clean area thoroughly and fit new ones. They protect the panel edge. Bulletin is right in that they should be removed when warped but always replace with new ones Thumbs Up Visitor from fullfatrr.com

If you use these it is enough to do the whole car twice if cut correctly, if mud laps are fitted might even squeeze enough to get three sets.
