United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

thanks for clearing that up. fyi a forum member mentioned a company called carfile the other day and when i enquired on a new plug in atb they gave me a price of £85k. My local dealer would not offer me ANY discount at first and yesterday they offered to match it Smile

its amazing how spending a few minutes on the forum can literally save you thousands.

you also mentioned you are collecting your car on friday any chance you can put up a video as i would love to see the interior. you also mentioned you are ordering it in santorini black just make sure you look at the paintwork in the natural light as the detailers they use dont know how to wash and prep a car properly. look out for any swirl marks

i used car wow to my advantage originally which showed lovely discounts on the MY17 car, but when looking into the discount further this actually included the £1500 LR contribution, so without that it was more like a £3k actual discount.

Forums are defo the way to go! i've learnt so much on here. Which is a good and bad thing as at least I'm prepared for build or quality issues..i shouldn't be saying that at all really but i guess its a bit of a reality when it comes to LR.

Good shout on the Santorini (of which, on a MY17 car i spec'd was £0, now its a £850 option) - i have already asked them to not prep the vehicle as it's being professionally detailed.

...im actually detailing it! i've used Blackfire Wet Ice over Fire on my Obsidian Black C63 which looked incredible and has a solid durability time on there, so I'm keen to get it on the Santorini!

What spec did you go for the on the plug in? quite a compelling option. The more i think about it the more i sort of wish i went for a petrol, i would have gone for an SVR with slightly less options if i actually put a bit more thought into the usage of the car.

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Santorini Black

i am once again going for a santorini black (bought a new atb in march last year for £82k and sold it yesterday for £62.5k so am already recovering from a big hit) with privacy glass, ebony/ebony, extended dark grey veneer, massage seats, heated and cooled front and rear, 4 zone, activity key, head up display, domestic socket, driver pro pack, iphone dock, fixed side step and mudflaps, pixel drl, surround cameras.

i loved the simple look of my other car so i will be buying the same wheels. the main reason i am changing is because i love new tech and as the majority of my driving is local i can make good use of driving in electric mode and the one thing that really did put me off my previous atb was the diesel sound when pulling off. i love the thought of driving in silence and as i dont drive fast anyway i dont mind only having a 2l engine.

if you can do me one favour when you get your car friday is if you could make a video of the digital dash and show me if there are different themes to the speed dials as the one LR show does not look all that.

regards

that is a very tasty looking AB you had there sir. Those wheels look so good especially when the car is sat on its bum on the access height.

Yeh will certainly do a couple of vids/pics of the car for sure! they may be a bit brief being in the showroom but i'll get some longer ones once i properly get used to it when its on the drive fingers crossed by monday evening at the ver latest.

just remembered looking at yours .that the mY18 cars ABs don't have painted callipers no more (no more Brembos?) so I'm going to get those painted. Im thinking a liquid bronze colour which i also have on my black on black c63 and they look great peeking through an all black wheel.. i think red is a bit 'done' now.

whats the lead times looking like on the plug in?

I have been told about 24 weeks.

I ordered red calipers on my previous car and i am on the configurator as i type and it still gives you the option of having red calipers ?

Let me know when you collect your car what colour they are pls mate.

Red calipers still available on the PHEV but not on the SDV6.

I believe the red calipers will not be branded Brembo now but Land Rover instead. Hope this helps

I’ll get the callipers done elsewhere along with a light smoked tint all around.

Insurance company told me this morning they won’t touch the car unless it has a tracker due to the value.. never heard of this before but I don’t think it’s a bad thing due to the amount of keyless entry thefts that have start riding. I’ve booked in for a thatcham cat1 tracker next week along with tints at an audio security specialist I use in Cardiff.

Looking forward to seeing it this afternoon!

I can see the logic in giving the PHEV the fading red calipers as PHEVs these day use regenerative braking unless in emergency so a lot less heat is generated when braking that would cause the calipers to discolour. I remember back in about 2008-2009 the TDv8’s Brembo branded callipers lost their Brembo transfers and if you search in the replies from Customer Services from way back then I think you will find a reply to the effect that if LR puts the transfers on they have to pay Brembo a fee....... doesn’t sound feasible but i’m Sure that was the reason why the transfers got removed, but then i’m Sure you can get hold of them on the bay of fleas 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Isn’t the tracking system fitted from the factory not good enough for your insurance company?

I’m doing my own brembo upgrade too, I think it’s a joke that you can’t spec them now on the 3.0d,they should be there as an option for all models!!

It should be, fancy having to fit another tracker. Change insurance company would be the best way. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

I meant cat 6 as - minimum tracker sorry chaps.

The factory tracker ‘isn’t good enough’ no, be sure to my knowledge it isn’t a thatcham approved tracker, thus isn’t recognised by the insurance regardless of it does the same job or not.

Been to see the car today, it was up on ramps having the steps fitted and was quite dirty but it looks.amazing and I can’t wait to have it Monday!

It’s the first MY18 car for Cardiff and likely South Wales. Coolest kid on the block.

The InControl system is Cat6, yes. Many insurance companies insist on Cat5.
