2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey
Max Heating and front screen heater.

Now i’ve Owned many RRS and FFRR over the years but this morning I found something new about the “max” heating function button above the front and rear screen heater buttons (I’ve not used it very much previously). This morning it was very very cold here and the car has sat outside with snow all over it that has frozen solid - I had to use windscreen de-icer around the door seals just to get in! Anyway I found two things once I had got in and started the engine (it was -4c here this morning) - a) the wing mirrors were still frozen in the folded position and when I pressed the Max heat button the folded wing mirrors radiated enough heat to defrost the ice on the front door glass and b) compared to just using the automatic on function for the front screen when the Max Heat button was pressed in the screen heater appeared work a lot more quickly than normally, also the front screen heater stayed on longer and unlike on normal days, went off at the same time as the rear screen whereas normally it switches off well before the rear screen. 2.75 years into ownership of the car and something new found! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

We`re always learning pal. I`d had my Focus over a month...not long I know.....but after a month I found I had a sunglasses case above the drivers door. 18 months or so later, I discovered the centre armrest slid forward Laughing

I agree about the function you mentioned. It does seem to do a very good job....just a shame my rear screen doesn`t work Big Cry Steve.

Are you sure that the front screen heater working better wasn't just because the max heater squirts the aircon on max at the screen, as opposed to the floor which is where hot air normally goes on auto. Similarly, when the aircon is squirted at the screen, some is also sent through vents to the front side windows in the location of the mirrors. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

Interesting!

I only just noticed this button a few days ago when we had snow on 27th. Turned itself on automatically with both the rear and front windscreen defroster. I was quite impressed. Helped me get out and on the road to work a lot faster...

Although It didn't stop the ton of snow swooping forward off the roof and back onto the windscreen - when I was braking at the roundabouts Sad SVR with a few bits from Urban and Glohh
