Hi amgmaj, I haven’t used the, myself but knowles on the Epperstone bypass seem to be well regarded for Land Rover repairs and servicing. I plan to use them myself in the new year and spoke to them briefly on the phone. They seemed pretty knowledgeable.
Hope this helps.

Hi mate

Thanks for replying much appreciated.

I called them yesterday for a price they quoted around £900 plus VAT

I also called J Hill Services - Land-Rover Specialist in Ruddington Nottingham they quoted me £430 for both belts front and back plus £240 for a major service which to me seems like a good fair price....

What do you think?

Off the topic but If you could answer this question below please.

As me being new to LR been reading a lot on here some good some bad if you could please put me out of my misery regarding the crankshaft problem I have RRS 2010 TDV6 3.0 70000 miles and my VIN SALLSAAF3AA******
and link here below I'm guessing doesn't include my VIN no:???

amgmaj, thats even better. I'm only round the corner from them. I'm new to this 2 so not a fountain of knowledge yet. Been searching the forum for advice/troubleshooting tips etc. Only had mine a month to date.
The reviews on facebook look good for J. Hill so might be worth trying them. I will certainly give them a go now i know they are there.
As for the crank problem. I need to get myself up to speed with it and check my vin N° as i have a 2010 3L diesel too.

Definitely worth a call I'll be taking mine down there next year after the 8th January when they reopen.

How you finding your RRS?

What colour and mileage?

Its an HSE, Stornaway grey with ivory leather just done 50k with full stratstone history. I’m loving it at the moment and have added side steps and puddle lights to date. Also got a Mud guard set that I will fit over Christmas. It’s driving me mad that I haven’t given it a proper clean/detail yet but should get chance this weekend. It’s a nightmare keeping cars clean this time of year.
How about you, what’s the spec on yours.

Thats good colour to have, you can do loads to these cars with little things here and there and yes its a pain to keep the car clean in this weather but I do smile when I drive it Smile

Mne's a Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Autobiography fully loaded with FSH on 70k in Santorini Black with 22" wheels.

Just had two new rear tyres (Pirelli Scorpion Zero Asimmetrico NCS Noise Control System) they won't cheap.

Oh yes, that’s a beauty. I love the look of the tail pipes and bumper on the Autobiography. Have you had it lowered or is it at the lowest setting.

It must of been on the lowest height settings, I always wanted to get a factory fitted Autobiography kit it just finishes the RRS in my opinion Very Happy

Hopefully might see you driving round Nottingham...

Let me know how you get on with your RRS over the next few months.

The indi I use won't change the belts, or at least yet, due to the rear HPFP pump being timed on the 3.0ltr. I understand that this allows the fuel to maintain a higher pressure at the common rail in response to the injectors opening. A timing pin is needed to be inserted to keep the timing while the belt is off, which makes it even harder as there is not a lot of room at the back of the engine. I think your quotes of about a grand are not too far off. I bought mine with the belts done because of that.
As far as I know, there isn't a particular VIN range that has a propensity for snapping the crank, all MY's could do it Sad .

Thanks for information Oldandconfused will keep that in mind when I book my car for change of belts, I'll mention that (timing pin is needed) to the Indi and see what he's says and price wise all seem to be similar not a big difference.

@ Oldandconfused have seen you this link below regarding the Vin range numbers affected by the camshaft problem? I could be completely wrong but it shows the affected patch numbers....

Cheers

Good try, but I couldn't open the link (said it can't be found) thanks anyway Thumbs Up There was a VIN range for the oil pump casing MY07's mainly.

That one works thanks. It looks like it's refering to a sensor replacement, not addressing actual crankshaft failure. There are lots of threads on here and Disco3 sister site. Don't wish to worry you, but have a look.
