Transmission fault message.... Now gone..

Hi,

Had the transmission fault message come on after initial start up today... Turned off and on again, car did systems check and no errors....

Driven the car all day without no issues... Gear changes fine etc...

Do you guys think it could be the battery having low voltage, cold weather?

Seems fine, all programmes are working etc.

Cheers Thumbs Up

Mine did this yesterday, started up & drove to fuel station with no problems,,when I started up to pull off pumps it’s wouldn’t go into any gear,,turned engine off & back on after 3 time it eventually went into gear & not been a problem since,,I’m going to plug diagnostics in tomorrow & see if it comes up with any codes or errors.

Recently I was getting transmission fault messages on startup. On checking with the IID tool, a couple of faults recorded ‘clutch actuator stuck’ and ‘clutch adaptive learning at limit’
After some searching, a few forums pointed towards possible bad electrical connections at the transfer box. I put the car on ramps and removed each of the three plugs, cleaned up the contacts and refitted. Also found a loose earth strap from the transfer box to the body, so tightened that too. No transmission faults for the last couple of weeks so looks like It’s sorted.

Your fault might be down to low battery power, or brake light bulbs, or any one of the other little foibles that can give unrelated alarms with these cars, but to be sure, getting the codes read with a proprietary reader will help you out.
