Best CTEK Charger to buy for RRS

Had the dreaded flat battery today, so I am looking to invest in a CTEK charger

Looking at the MXS 5.0

Is this the right one for the RRS (2007, Deisel 2.7) Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4

Hi,
Which charger depends how you are going to use it Question

If you leave the car a few days between short trip use Then the lower spec can be fine as it has time on its side to get the battery fully charged, if it's short trips every other day then a higher spec one may be better suited, if you plan to do any work on the car (IID updates) then you may be best getting a 25

Don't know about terminal size, I either use the Tow electric plug or crocs to the jump lead posts, not direct to battery
(see Tim's post regarding solar charge)

Can use some 7pin as long as its not the one with black flap on it. Have a look in the forum shop as there is more info regarding 7 pin charging Thumbs Up 2003 BMW M5 - 5 Litres of V8 Optimax Slurping Goodness in Carbon Black

M8 size I think.

5 amp is fine. About Β£65 on the bay ?

Try and get a Free indicator lead M8. Good for connecting in the boot

MXS7 or MXS10 they have the advantage of having a separate 12 volt power supply should you need it to retain memory on a vehicle etc.

This is how I connect mine, just tucks back under bonnet out of the way, never had any problems with water ingress during rain etc. saves having to remove tow bar cover etc. as well.

Cheers

I have 3 C-Tek MXS-5 units and I find the mode switch becomes unresponsive after a while from new. They work but the mode switch does not seem to change the setting until it has been pressed a few times. The issue is the same for all 3 units I have. When they are new they responded instantly. I would go for the MXS-7 as I find the MXS-5 a bit undersized for the RRS battery.
