ACC Sensor Blocked (During Snow)

Hi all.

So we had snow there and a message came up on the dash to say ACC Sensor Blocked. So i washed the car and the message disapeared. But now everytime i drive and i brake and come to a stop i hear the front parking sensors beep like 10 times in a row. Evil or Very Mad. It does this everytime now i brake to a hault.

Do i need to reset something?

Thanks. Thumbs Up

In snow the ACC sensor can get covered and will then not work. A simple wipe will often cure it.

The parking sensors and pressurised water (especially jet washers) don’t mix. Take care near them with anything other than a sponge and a watering can. Thumbs Up Robin

Unfortunately the ACC sensor is very exposed on L320 RRS and it isn’t just snow that will give you the sensor blocked message, if you have a very dirty car after off-roading you can get the same message. Also it is unfortunate that there is no fall back conventional cruise control that the system defaults to when you get the blocked sensor message - it is a pain to have to complete a long haul trip without the cruise at all because it keeps dropping out. Fortunately on L494 the sensor is better located and there is less likelihood of this happening on later cars with ACC. My L494 has conventional cruise rather than ACC which was a rather costly option, I’m happy with that at this time of the year. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

This is now resolved and no more dreaded beeping every time i stop. This was in fact down to my Park Brake Fault, which was also fixed today due to broken wires underneath the car!

well pleased to have these things fixed, more importantly for MOT in January!
