Changing chrome tailgate trim...tips?

Has anyone had any experinence of swapping out the chrome tailgate trim strip for a black one, or just removing the strip?

Any tips gratefully received before I scratch/break something trying to figure it out. Youtube and the internet seems strangely barren on this....

Just buy some plastic trim tools, then prise the old one out.

Ive done this on my car, and from memory its about 5 clips that hold it in. So start at one side and work along.

Mine was very dirty in behind, so clean it out before you put the new bit on. RRS in chilli red 2014 HSE with a few options, also general grabber AT3 tyres as it does go off road and gets dirty

That sounds suprisingly simple!

Cue lots of swearing, broken clips and a massive scratch down the tailgate!!

I changed mine recently from black to silver - it takes 2 minutes - start on the left or right & just pull the trim away from the tailgate with a reasonable amount of force - as said previously it will need cleaning before pushing the new one back on Thumbs Up
