Tdi- Tuning CRTD4 tuning box.

Has anyone had one of these boxes fitted ? I would like to remap my car but don't want to get caught out with a void warranty due to being remapped if something went wrong with the car.

They are claiming all the advantages of a remap but with a box that is untraceable to dealers once removed.

My question is do they work safely or are they like some of the old tuning boxes that just dump fuel in to make more power and fall the ecu in to running more boost than it thinks it is. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

Tuning boxes are more likely to cause issues than a quality remap Thumbs Up

I have one of these on MY16 VW Amarok Highline & it works well,,Easy to remove if it has to go in for warranty work plus no trace of it being there.
As DM says I wouldn’t fit one on my RRS though,,I would go for a rolling road map to someone like Alive tuning or Bell Auto’s

If the car was not still under warranty I would not hesitate to have a remap but it is so was looking for a way of some power gain and hopefully cure the fast pull away hesitation that the cars seem to suffer on standard map.

Wouldn't want to risk warranty hence looking for something that can be removed without trace. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

If your profile is correct, your 2012 is no longer under manufacturers warranty... Whistle

Not the manufacturer warranty but I still have 14 months LR used approved warranty left to run. Hence not wanting to risk voiding it by having a traceable remap put on the car. 2017 SVR. SVO Scafell grey Ebony interior

I have done warranty work on cars that have been mapped Thumbs Up

Either way, a tuning box is not the way to go. All they do is ramp up the fuel pressure, wearing out the HPFP and injectors, and raising the exhaust gas temperatures.
None of which are good...
