2016MY sat nav update

Can anyone help me update the sat nav on my 2016MY RRS AB

I have tried the LR web site and they either want £169 for a new disc or you can down load a file if the sat nav uses a SD card for free.

I'm not sure what my sat nav uses, i thought it was based on HDD but not sure,

Can anyone help

Is this a firmware update or a map update ? I would like to know if it is firmware so I can consider. M16 SVD8 ,4.4 HSE with a few extras, Sold R50 , Wife SQ5 , BMW R1200GSW.

I would like to update the maps, where new road layouts have been added etc,
