Delivery checklist

More and more people are asking the "what do I check for when I pick my RRS up from the dealer" question, so this topic goes some way to build a checklist. I have made it a sticky and we'll run this in a similar vein to the RRS Glossary thread... any additions will be consolidated into the initial post and then deleted.

I have started it off with some basic culling of some previous content, but please feel free to add as things come up.

-----------------------------------------

RRSPORT.CO.UK Delivery Checklist:

Dealer PDI Checklist:
- This can be x-referenced if you have time/inclination

Paintwork
- Discolouration
- Marks/Swirling/Scratches
- Protective films not removed properly at PDI

Body/Chassis
- If SC, correct types of grille and vents fitted
- Ensure air suspension sitting level at all four corners

Wheels
- Check alloys free of scuffs/marks

Interior
- Check leather is clean & blemish free
- Check stitching where necessary for misalignment
- Check front/rear grab handles installed in correct locations

Ensure all dealer-fit items are fitted and correct
- Replacement grilles/vents etc
- Side steps
- Dealer-swapped 20in alloys

Dealer handover
- "How-to" runthrough complete?
- Should be some sort of handover gift: champagne is a popular one

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

A bunch of flowers on the back seat for the wife is always a nice touch.

Not that my stealers provided anything like that. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Don't get overexcited - my dealer threw in a bottle of "champagne" which could best be described as poor quality paint stripper. It was quite hideous!

England 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

I was lucky to get a "Thankyou for your business".

Three brand new motors in five years, plus family and friends using the dealership on my recommendation.

I always get a better dealer experience at the Ford dealers when we pick up the wife's new motors. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Don't you get a card that says "LR Employee - Special Treatment Please"?

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver

Is there an independent company / professionals that do inspections on behalf of buyers of new cars, similar to AA for used cars?

We use specialists surveyors for a number of purposes - would be useful to have some one go over the car prior to collecting it at end of month to ensure PDI has been done correctly. 07MY TDV6 HSE, Zermatt Silver, Privacy Glass, Tow Bar, Phone Cradle, Mud Flaps

On order Hybrid 3lt Sport ......expected 2009

Have just found out the AA recommend the following Co for vehicle inspections. They inspect new and used vehicles. I may give them a go on the day I collect the vehicle ! Rather be safe than sorry !

Too right. £378 for FFRR, the RRS isn't listed on their site... I expect a phone call is in order.
