I use my laptop to create routes and send them to the car, you can maintain your list of destinations by adding and deleting them and this will sync with the car.

May I ask how you do that? I already use Garmin Basecamp to plan routes on my laptop which I then transfer to the Garmin based BMW Navigator on my motorbike and that works very well once you understand the process. I dont suppose Garmin Basecamp can be made to work with the L-R system?

Why these high end car manufacturers don't just give up designing their own infotainment systems is beyond me. I recently hired a vauxhall Mokka whilst in Brussels and the infotainment system knocked the socks of my L494.

Bluestone, unfortunately Most other systems are far much better than JLR even BMW have excellent systems and their maps and info on them are superior using same sourced info. Rolling Eyes Whistle John

Well the infotainment system is still doing my head in because its now gone completely blank. The car went back to the stealer a few days ago for a shoddily fitted centre console to be refitted. I smelt a rat as soon as the car came back because the infotainment screen was taking much longer to display on start up than before and now its gone totally blank. After 3 largely problem free years with my previous L494 I'm starting to believe the stories about L-R build quality

My 2017 autobiography is being replaced due to infotainment issues, it took the dealer 13/14 weeks to fix it so I demanded and was given a new one. I didn't want another 2017 but who knows if the 2018 will be any better. (due January)

I thought you might appreciate the honesty. Since the 'fix' was done ironically the car hasn't gone wrong so all might not be lost for the 2017 cars.

Basically the main screen and the dash screen would go dark/switch off and then the system seemed to carry out a reboot. This happened every time I drove the car, sometimes it happened 2/3 times on the way to work which is a 20 minute journey. The dealer still reckons I had more issues than others as I have rear seat entertainment as well.

Can I ask how old your car was when the dealer agreed to replace it? I’ve currently got a case open with LR customer care for similar infotainment issues. My car is currently with a dealer to investigate - it was supposed to be forna couple of days but has been almost two weeks now with absolutely no updates!

jd2uk of course you can ask.

I was very unhappy that my car was sitting in the dealer for weeks without being touched, or them trying something new or replacing something else for 5 minutes then locking it up again and waiting for land rover to tell them what to try next. not enjoyable at all.

The car started to cause issues after 4 months, with the delay and lack of fix available it drew close to the 2018 reveal at the start of October so I waited until it was launched, then said I don't want a replacement in 2017 form anymore I want a 2018, I have to pay most of the price increase but still means I have a new car when I am a year down the road on the finance.

Wow really. How many miles have you done in it? I'm surprised they didn't just replace the actual unit and try again with that. (£4.5k apparently).

Mine is in next week for the latest software update and if that doesn't work I would like to push like you for a new car, however my car is a year old now, so what are my rights do you think?
