Heated Rear Quarter Panel Glass?

Good morning all,

Since purchasing my 2013 RRS L320 Black Edition in June 17, today was the first time I had the opportunity to try the heated front and rear screens after a heavy frost last night.

The front and rear screen heating worked perfectly but I was expecting the rear quarter panel fixed glazing also to clear as there are what appears to be heating elements embedded in the glass? It is unlikely that they are both defective unless they both share the same power feed and I would assume that they would be activated by the heated rear screen switch?

Can someone please confirm that these fixed panels are heated and if there is any 'trick' to enable them?

Thanks Thumbs Up

Steve

The rear quarter panels are not heated on mine.
I do not think it was ever an option. MY13.5 Autobiography, Santorini Black, Privacy Glass. Gone

Thanks for the reply. I have added a photo of the glass with what looks like heater elements to my original post Thumbs Up

I used to have them many years ago on a Ford Granada Estate. Haven't noticed if they are on my new RRS (only had it 24h). They're alarm sensors in case the glass is broken rather than heater elements I think. Might have carried the FM aerial as well. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

I am not an expert but think the wires are some sort of aerial.
I am sure someone with more knowledge will confirm soon. MY13.5 Autobiography, Santorini Black, Privacy Glass. Gone

They are not heater elements, I believe, but in fact aerials for TV, DAB Radio etc, roof antenna is for the Sat Nav system.
Rear screen can/is also be used for radio. John

They are the aerial lines, not heated screen lines, been lije that on many cars for a few years now. Just bought a RRS 06 MY HSE TDV6 136,000 miles, to be a second car to my bland, boring Mitsubishi Outlander 68 plate 2.0 petrol 4
