Ok to answer my own question the 22" wheels now come with M+S tyres as standard and if you want summer tyres tick the box! SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Mine will not be going anywhere near a field yet alone a mountain.

For normal car use in the UK do people think that summer or the normal tyres are the most appropriate?

Cheers

If you live in the north, probably summer with a separate set of winter tyres. In the midlands/south, probably the standard all seasons. In London or below you'll get away with summer 360 days a year, but wish you had all seasons or better on the rare occasion that it snows or gets icy.

Personally unless you really want to push it i think the all season tyres it is coming on are the right choice, plus in the uk with all the rain we get they are still the best choice. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

If this old git really pushes his SVR, I think he will end up in a ditch or wrapped around a tree! Decision made - will stick to the standard tyres!

If you run the summer tires do you need to change to winter tires ? How does your car insurance fair if say you have an accident on a frosty morning whilst running summer tires ?

Fairly sure insurance companies don't enforce the use of either type of tyre in the UK like they do in certain other EU countries. Since most faster cars come with summer tyres anyway you wouldn't be expected to change them here
