What's the little red key for

Just noticed today there is a little red key (small circular red fob, little key) that has a + - on it thats been kept in my front ashtray.
Also the cover for the 12v outlet in the ashtray has a + - on it. Does anybody have any idea what this is for?

Apologies if this isn't in the correct section.

Thanks
