Head and Rear lights - up grade?!?

I have a 2006 Sport. If I wanted to 'up grade' the lights to the modern sport led type lights, I'm wondering if it would be possible?!? Perhaps the electric connections or the profile of the lights themselves are not comparable? Andrew Kennedy

I don't think the headlights can be done, as either the bumper or wing needs changing too. oh and grill

Rear lights can be done but you need to fit resistors to the indicator and brake wires to keep the car happy.

Up grading my lights

Thanks for yours and the info. The model that followed the 2006 Sport that was fitted with LED lights - do you think there is any chance those lights would be compatible with my 2006 model without changing bumpers etc? Andrew Kennedy

How can these trade sellers not check (proof read) and get the spelling right for different models. Not very professional, Vogue misspelt for example. Whistle John

John'

If you really want to be really picky it was not vehicles produced after 2012 that had to have DRL's by Law either, but New Models first type approved after early 2011 if I remember correctly. Rolling with laughter

And the facelift RRS didn’t have DRL’s it had “styled” led headlight surrounds that cannot be made into DRL’s without quite a lot of hard work! I had Hawke remodelled headlights with a line of LEDs under the adaptive lamps on my 2007 TDv8. They were not cheap and in the next 3 years of ownership several of the small LEDs failed and couldn’t be replaced......

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I had mine made in 2012 by a guy in Bradford, fitted SMD rings to all 3 sections. These are on 100% of the time that the car is driven. Well over 30k miles done, and there’s no fade, no loss of smd’s. The only issue I had was in summer time a few years ago, the heat unstuck the sticky pad securing one of the rings, so off it came into the oven, opened up the headlight, a few squirts of resin and been fine ever since.

This is an old photo, ile have to try get a more upto date one.
