GoPro/ action cameras

Hi all,

What do you guys use? I want to get a decent camera and there are a huge amount of benefits with a GoPro but I was wondering if anyone had a lower costing but similar camera? Something to use in conjunction with the car would be great also!

Thanks in advance

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

I have a Hero Black GoPro about 4 years old now and it has stopped working recently. I mentioned this to some divers in Malta and the team leader advised that GoPro’s all stop working around 4-5 years old but they still replace theirs with another because for professional underwater use there is nothing comes near to them in value for money and quality of picture. Not sure I will replace mine though as there are now so many accessories for IPhone’s cameras that make them as useful as a GoPro now, unless you want to go diving! 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV on order for April delivery, bye bye Land Rover after 21 years and 11 LR products..... all because you won’t give me reassurance that should my SDv6 crankshaft break because of a design fault, not MY fault, but the engine builders fault - it will be replaced for free.

Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I wouldn’t use it underwater so that feature isn’t really required. The thing I want most of all, is a video mode that cuts down wind noise when I’m using it on my car 😂

You need to get a decent microphone and a very good windshield for it, only real way to get rid of wind noise is using pro type equipment which isn't really suitable for what you want.
The crap Mic and programs that come with what really are very cheap cameras, are unfortunately not designed to use for what many want.

Dependant on where you live, you should be able to find a professional Camera/video supplier which can supply you or advise you on what will do the job you want. John

Thanks for the advice it’s much appreciated. I’m almost tempted to get a cheap £20 one off of eBay just to try. It might be an ‘omg it actually works! Laughing ‘ moment! Noisy black one

I bought a £40 4K version from eBay and it is fine - not brilliant in low light but few are.
