Powering Equipment with Ignition Off

Is there a simple way to disable the need to have ignition on to move windows and seats etc.

When you turn the ignition off power windows and seats still work until the car goes to sleep then nothing works. Has caused a few problems with people in the car when I walk off with the keys - they cannot open or close windows or adjust seats.

Obviously I can play around with wiring so they are live all the time but that is a lot of mucking around - does anyone know another way to disable this annoying feature.

Thanks

Nope. Do they really need to be messing with seats once they’re in and comfortable? As for window opening, if it gets too hot, open the door.....

Or leave them with your keys.... Bodsys Brake Bible

annoying.

Other older cars of different makes (ford/vauxhall) used to enable the windows when the drivers door was open.

It would be so easy these days to implement when car designed.

How long is the timer after the ignition is switched off?

If it goes off can't you press the power on button. It won't start obviously, but I thought it still turned things on such as windows. 2012 RRS SDV6

Not a key less model.

Don't you need the fob present anyway?

I take that is a no then - stupid arrangement.

I am sorry but some of my passengers have complained about getting hot when I have gone away from the car with the keys - they want to open the windows (or be able to close them in a dodgy neighbourhood) - opening the door is a often not an option or a poor option to poor design when you should be able to simply lower the window.

Oh well. Sad 07MY RRS TDV6

Perhaps it's all part pf the "Stupid" anti-trap feature which stops kid's or even animals if left in the car alone for whatever reason with the window partly open strangling themselves by accidentally closing the window when their head is stuck outside, or possibly opening the window and falling out splitting their head open on the concrete, tarmac or whatever. I think the actual "anti-trap" feature is actually a legal requirement now.

Cheers
