Removing undertray

Hi,
Whilst attempting to cure my leaking turbo hose, I decided to try remove engine undertray to clean off oily mess. Got 4 bolts out but rest seized solid! Soaked in WD40 while I have a coffee but not hopeful! Any suggestions before I attack with angle grinder?
Also, the hose I am attempting to look at is a short one between the turbo and a metal pipe and about 3" long with a jubilee clip on both ends. The clips are very tight so am guessing that the hose is just perished or worn. Is this a common fault or could there be another reason for the leak? What is this hose called in case I need a new one?

Many thanks in advance,

Gary.

Keep soaking the undertray bolts and turbo hoses are quite common to give way have a look on advance factors for them or ebay for the silicone type Thumbs Up

First I'd wash off that WD40 and use a proper penetrating oil, like Plus Gas or the like. WD40 does absolutely nothing for seized bolts, it must be one of the most incorrectly used products out there. 13MY Range Rover Sport Autobiography SDV6 - mine

WD40 does help on a RRS (whether designed to or not)

I think you need a long breaker bar for the bolts. Needed for a lot of things on the RRS !

Well this is topical.

Had to take off the undertray yesterday to change the engine oil and usually this is a 5 minute job because I have always been careful to clean the bolt threads and coat with copper grease before torqueing up to the correct value when replacing it.

Unfortunately some halfwit working on the car doing some gearbox work had managed to round off one of the bolt heads - presumably overtightening with an air tool.

Luckily I have a set of Irwin bolt-grips and was able to use the 13mm size combined with a breaker bar to get it free. Now I need a new bolt!

I recommend anyone to buy some Irwin's and a set of six point sockets - they'll save the day many times. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

They all have 13mm heads and are M10 with 1.5 pitch threads. The threaded part of the bolts is 22mm. Two of the bolts have nuts and all the others locate into captive nuts. The bolts are not just standard bolts though - they all have a flare below the head and a captive washer with locking serrations. Your best bet is to ring Dan at Duckworth parts with your VIN to hand and he should be able to order you a complete set. Duckworth are site sponsors so you get a small discount. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Well they can't be removed from the bolt. Bu*****d if I know how they get them on in the first place. Maybe the washers are put on before the threads are rolled? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

Thanks all for replies.
Managed to get tray off by grinding a slot in centre of bolt head to full depth of head then tapping it round. Need 4 more bolts now but not a problem. Enabled me to clean up any oil residue so i can keep tabs on any new leaks. Managed to tighten turbo hose up a bit (small one) so fingers crossed it might cure it. Will purchase new silicone set anyway. How difficult are these to fit?

Gary.
