United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Lux Orkney Grey
Engine Bay Clean

Such a nice day here in East Anglia that I decided to give the engine bay a clean before winter arrives.

I brushed on a general purpose grease cleaner to get into all the tiny gaps and then washed it off with my power washer on a very low pressure setting and left the engine bay to dry in the sun.

I have seen a lot of good reviews for Aerospace 303 spray so got some to try. I must say that I was very impressed, just sprayed it over all the plastics under the bonnet and then used a brush to make sure of an even coat and to get into all the small crevices. Don't panic as it leaves 'milky' streaks when you first apply it! Left it for about 30 minutes to dry and came back to a gleaming engine bay.

I will certainly be using this product again Thumbs Up

Regards,

Steve

The bike cleaner Muk Off (spray on, leave for 10 mins, wash off) combined with 303 or Muk off's own silicone spray works well too. Muk Off has been my secret weapon for cleaning wheel arches, radiators (through grilles) and engine bays for years.

Bilberry wheel cleaner on suspension struts and exhaust back boxes is my other tip!

Thanks for the tip about Muk-off, I will get some and give it a go Thumbs Up

I agree with the note of caution about using water in the engine bay Thumbs Up

If you do use water, don't use a high pressure washer and make sure that you keep water away from the back of the engine bulkhead area and the back of the fuse boxes where all the electrics and various modules live.
