tdv6 timing belt

Hello all,

Just a small question.

Who makes the original LR timing belt?

I have just replaced mine with a Contitech belt, but the one that was in it was a Dayco.

It had been replaced before I bought the car, but I didn't know when so I replaced it anyway.

But... is Dayco an original?

Thanks.

Nick

Dayco do make belts for ford so it is possible that dayco made the original.

Would the original have LR marked on it or Dayco?

Thanks for the answer.

I know that it is easy to get a Dayco. I simply was trying to determine for sure if the timing belt in my RRS had been replaced.

Going by the condition, I was pretty sure that it had been replaced (going by the condition), but was not sure. The name on the belt was Dayco, so I doubted that this was the original one, but I just wanted to be sure.

Most original belts carry both the car and belt manufacturers name together.
Then juts the belt manufacturers name in the aftermarket

Unless something is up you cannot really tell if the belt has been replaced or not just by looking at them. Normally a used belt really does not show any wear and often looks like new - it is inside that changes have taken place - if in doubt change and go the Dayco. 07MY RRS TDV6

Thanks for the info.

I have changed tge belt, but with a contitech belt (my experience with contitech is that their quality is better than Dayco)

The belt that came off only had the Dayco label (no LR label).

Do you think it had been replaced?
