Interesting - I wasn't expecting the plug-in at launch! Will it be good enough to get me cancelling my Tesla MX order... discussions with the dealer ASAP I think!

On the whole I generally like it, especially as they have made it look like a 'sport' across every grade spec, but the reliability of JLR tech is a huge issue for me. It's a big gamble to spend £85k+ on a car with untried (in the real world) tech, especially as my next car will be bought to do dual duties replacing both my current RRS and our MK7 nursery/shopping Golf. SOLD - MY16 SDV6 Autobiography Dynamic - Fire Engine Red, Fixed contrast pan roof, TV, Dual Screen, 5+2, Privacy, Noble paddles.

so.....when do we expect MY 16.5/17 to start dropping in price?

no int in buying a new one/dealer stock one, but couple of years old Autobiography would be nice... surely these will come down as people move to the new one

Prices are already dropping with the announcement, thats why i sold mine 2 weeks ago! As checked today and my offer would have been £3k lower on the basis of this facelift. Current

Looks really nice! Not sure whether I regret buying a MY17 or not - the combination of the increased prices and reduced discount over the next few months would have made it a much more expensive purchase. I'm not too fussed about the interior changes, but the new front/rear bumpers and lights do look really good. I'm sure it won't be long before someone tries to retrofit them!

Well that if that's the case and I can get the same £8,500 discount off the facelift I will be first in line to trade in a MY17. Won't hold my breath tho SVR Carbon Edition in Estoril Blue MY 21.5

My exact thoughts too and as I retire in 12 months I don't know if I want to spend >£80k for what amounts to an RRS with a 2.0ltr petrol engine costing around £60k when it doesn't have to lug a huge battery pack around............ and will anyone ever be able to achieve 101mpg in real life motoring - even MilkFloatMan might struggle with that. His Outlander PHEV looks a more attractive an investment TBH and you can buy two of those for the price of a decently specced RRS PHEV and not have the worries that the tech or paint quality will let it down. I would love to commit to an RRS PHEV in March 2018 when my faultless SDV6 is 3 years old but there are just too many niggles after recent stories of LR's hopeless quality control at Solihull and so many new cars being rejected because of paint and InControl problems. I may just wait for the iPace or Tesla 3 AWD to come on sale. After 21 years of owning nothing but Land Rovers maybe it is time for a change. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care

It's not really new though, just the usual mid/end of life refresh to push through until the new model arrives in 2020.

New lights, bumpers, infotaintment....meh...I think (like a lot of mid-life updates) it looks worse than the first iteration.

I'll get my coat....

I put a deposit down for an SVR a couple of months ago and just sent an initial spec to dealer to get my order loaded into the Holding Pool.

Initial thoughts on the SVR:
Wheels not as nice as the current ones and some more choice would be good
Two- tone steering wheel - yuk.
Seats - from pictures, they do not look as good as the current ones
Bonnet bulges - those I do like!!
Carbon bonnet - no thanks!

I am happy with changes except the seats, looks ugly and uncomfortable compared to current AB seats.

Jas looks like they have arm rests on the seats now and also side vents are not so nice, same as other models perhaps? SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Phew... could not be happier I bought when I did!

I get that the duo screens are the future, but I just don't like them at the moment, or the dodgy Velar steering wheel.
I do like the new rear end and lights though.

But the seats and wheels just look awful, compared to the previous ones.... Censored Now

Arm rests are in the pictures on the configurator, but not in the pictures in the Product Brief (Page 90 onwards). Very odd!

Oh bl..dy hell, its taken me 4 years to adjust to the rear end on the RRS2 to the point where I want one now and they go and change it again. I am not a big fan of what I call the "C Class exhaust" look but i think in this case it makes the back look better resolved. I always tell a petrol from a diesel by the slightly down turned exhausts, now I will be stumped.

I still want a V8SC as SWMBO wants me down to 1 car instead of 2 and I want the grunt. It may make sense to buy 1 year old and reduce the depreciation factor.
