Facelift Key Options

Loads of info on the refurb of the pre-facelift key but not much on the Smart Key.

Any other options to this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LAND-ROVER-Range...SwjDZYhnoY

As I know the rubber will just start peeling again. If I could transfer the internals into something else I'd be much happier.

I had my peeling fob replaced with the smart, and smaller new type by RRUK (Adam) of this forum for £47 returned. It was back in 3 days and I was very pleased with this service. Have a look at his post (I would stick a link on but I'm out and about on my mobile and I haven't got a clue how to do it).

I replaced the cover on mine with a new one from Land Rover. £8. Took 3 minutes to do and threw a new battery in. Lot cheaper than sending it off and be charged Thumbs Up

My original fobs are the older style "large" ones with the rubber covers that peel off after a lot of use. I had mine converted to fit into the new style fob,, a lot smaller and not made of rubber. The circuit board has to be reduced in size to fit,, the new style cases are selling for £44 on the bay 2010 RRS, TDV8

I just wanted to publicly thank Adam (RRUK) for the prompt and very helpful service he has provided.

It makes such a difference having a new slim key, it's so much better than the old chunky one certainly in my case where the rubber was peeling off.

All you people with the original key... get it sent to Adam, it's WELL worth it.

Edit: Just to add, send your key on a Wednesday and it's back on Friday guaranteed before 1pm. Very impressive turnaround. 2015 BMW 435i MSport
