Its gone wrong again!

Just had a call from the LR Secure to say the RRS had triggered an alert due to the battery being disconnected. Asked me did I know where the vehicle was, Yes, its locked in the garage, I said.

Cannot get into the car and the rear lights are on, they suggested a fault with the keyless vehicle module.

LR Assist contacted and they will send out a local garage tomorrow morning.

Anyone else been locked out and did it get fixed easily?

I think this is my fault, I have just booked it in for its second service and they asked if there was any additional work required "no, its running fine" was my reply - famous last words or what.

Oh! Tony,

Another tale of woe. Hope your local garage can fix it. Especially given the distance between you and the nearest Dealer. I am afraid I am rapidly loosing faith in Parks. Have been having a row with them about them not entering data into the on-line service history pages. They claim that all they have to complete is Topix and that the https://osh.landrover.com/ is for customers to complete for any work performed on the vehicle. As there is no paper log book with dealer stamps any more, this is the only "document" available to prove you have had the vehicle maintained according to specification, so clearly they have to complete it. Watch this when your car goes in for its service.

Hi Jock,

Thanks for the heads up on the service record.

Local garage turned up on time this morning, declared totally flat battery and jump started it, I drove it round for an hour and it seems fine except 2 stage unlocking does not work. I have checked the set up menu and the box is ticked so it seems there could be a fault with the keyless locking control as the LR Assist call centre suggested last night.

I will see what happens over the next few days.

Its booked in for the second service in just over two weeks, I will see if it can be brought forwards. When I did the booking it was as smooth as before, I called on the service reception number I previously used and got through to Inverness. The reception lady checked the vehicle in and without me telling her my name she come back "that's Mr xxx and your coming over from Skye, we will have a courtesy car for you as usual". To which I gave my usual reply "any chance of it being an F Type". Hard to fault that service but I will keep your advice in mind and check everything very carefully when I take it in.
