'Say What You See' has gone silent...

Hi,

First post here... Wink

I have a 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE. The 'Say What You See' button has suddenly stopped working. Is there a way I might have inadvertently turned it off or is it known to be a bit temperamental / flaky? There is no response to flicking the switch - not even the beep or the audio going quiet.

Quite often it's the only sensible conversation I have.

Many thanks,

Hugh

I assume you mean the voice button on the left of the steering wheel ?

I think it might be a problem with the clockspring.

'Mode' increases the volume of the audio
'+' starts the SWYS beep
'-' changes the channel of the radio
'|<<' lowers the volume of the audio
'>>|' starts the phone.
The voice button and cruise control buttons do nothing.

Does the clockspring seem a candidate? Trying to do anything quickly becomes a game of 'whack-a-mole' as I try to find the one that does what I want.

Hi Andy,

No, I haven't been playing, but I might ask somebody [who know's what they doing] to do so.
