Locking wheel nuts

Guys, my new RRS has some Cades Statutum Tempus MMV alloys but no locking wheel nuts. I want to buy some but don't know if standard ones will fit or do I need ones for after market alloys ?

Thanks

The locking wheel nuts on many LR vehicles have a really bad design flaw in them. They can and do part halfway at the stainless cap and makes it a nightmare to get them off. I just spent about 8 hours trying to get one off and now have to get my wheels refurbed. I have bought standard nuts to replace them. If you want them, make sure you either free them off periodically, ensure no one ever uses anything other than their hands to loosen or tighten them, or go non oem.

Do a search, it's all over the web, P38 RR, RRS, Disco, they must have used them for years knowing they were flawed.

Odd one that, I have had Range Rovers for the last 25 odd years and have not once had a wheel nut problem but then I have always used the correct size socket and a torque wrench as well as a small amount of copperslip on the threads.

Cheers

Just put non-locking nuts on. I had a similar designed jaguar nut get stuck - rather than try to chisel it, find someone with a dynomec kit and give them £20.

Bit of a thread resurrection here, but was at may local indi re a steering wheel alignment issue, took the opportunity to have mine changed for normal nuts. Looks better and no danger of the "key" disintegrating at the side of the road.
FYI, Ian (Fenland 4x4 Thumbs Up ) cured the steering wheel issue by swapping the Crapinentals from the front to the rear-wheel centered, had a chat and nuts swapped (in a good way Embarassed ).
