If you insure with NFU, they cover new-for-old for 2 years if the car is written off (must be first registered owner). GAP not required.

Not an actual Tracker as in the trade name, and not as required by many insurance companies. (The word tracker tends to get used as a generic term for various tracking devices, like 'hoover' being used as a synonym for vacuum cleaner)

Thanks for this. Is this subscription based and if so is there a free period? I will get in touch with my sales guy to get the full details and run it by my insurer. Anyone know which insurance companies recognise this. Nfu is highly recommended on cost and the fact they cover off tthe potential gap need.

Some insurance companies don't demand any type of tracking device, it varies with company, location, etc. If you live in a high-risk area, it makes it more likely you'll be asked for one, usually of the highest Thatcham category, which the LR product isn't. However, on another thread someone has just posted that his insurance company accepted the RRS 'In-Control Secure' system.

Yes, it's subscription based but free during the three-year warranty period.

If you've got 'In-Control Secure' you've got the LR tracker.

Thanks for the advise. I will check them out.

I called my current insurer durect line for an indication on cost for insurance. Only £59 to change fron 640 to rrs until end of Feb in line with my current term. However, the guy i spoke with wasnt clear if incontrol secure would pass as a tracker device with them!! All he could say was it needed a tracker!? Question. Anyone with direct line and had the lr incontrol tracker accepted as ok? Thanks.
Tried nfu. They wouldn't quote as i am not rural enough! Said their quote wouldn't be competetive. Didnt even try! I dont live on a farm but not exactly urban.....🖓

ALA also price-matches, and beats (by 20% in my case) any genuine competitors quote. (I used shortfall.co.uk to get a cheap quote for them to beat, and yes, they do check!).
