Was advised against these when l had my MOT done, when 2 tyres were replaced (Bulges on inside) the JLR dealership say they do not meet the specs for the RRS on 20" wheels as max spec is "V" and not "Y" as required for both car and insurance purposes. John

Speed rating isn't an issue so long as you tell your insurer (for completeness), V is 149mph which is fine. According to the Yokohama website, the 275/40/20 is load rated to 106 which, I believe, is fine.

The tyre looks to be thirsty and noisy according to the tyre label info. What is it about them that draws you to them? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

They come under "budget" tyres and prices seem fair, (size dependant.)

I was told that spec for car is "Y" which is way outside performance of car, but was advised as tyre only is "106 V" saves all the hassle with insurance company, and far better tyres for the money out there. Smile John

I had no problems with insurance with 255/55/19 in H rating compared to standard 255/50/19 V rating. Just need to tell them up front. Thumbs Up

As for the specific tyres here, for the money I agree. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Speed rating isn't a issue but load rating is,,when I took my 22's off my RRS1 when I sold it they had 285/35r22 Pirelli's which were like new but when I fitted them to my RRS2 I removed the Pirellis which are only 106 load rating & fitted contis 295/40r22 112 load rating as the RRS2 needs higher load rating than the RRS1,,,,why I don't know as the RRS2 is lighter than the 1.

I went in to qwik fit to have a tyre checked for a slow puncture, while I was there he looked at my others, the front are very near legal limit possibly a few 1000 miles left, one of the rears although 5 mm tread the tyre is cracking in the treads, (continental uhp) and they have a deal on yokes offering 25% off basically buy 3 get 1 free. The prada x is the only one in 285 35 22, 106v xl

Andy, the Page link is coming up invalid. Whistle

Personally think tyres are to important to ever fit budget or even most mid priced tyres, on our cars, but that is just a personal opinion. Wink John
