Rear parking sensors

Whilst i had the car jacked up today i thought i would have a look at the rear parking sensors.
A good while ago i had a continual beep and the flashing amber light on the dashboard, this was during the winter which was very wet.
now when reversing it no longer beeps at all, just the flashing amber light.
Removed the left side lights to look at the wiring loom and it all looked normal. Under the car i could only see 1 wire coming out of the bumper and into the light fixture - this wire was purple and was taped into the wiring loom.

In order to check the problem, is it a whole rear bumper off job? I've had the car in reverse with the brake applied and can hear no clicking from any of the sensors.

Advice appreciated. I've managed quite well without the sensors on this car and previous cars, but as it's on the car it might as well work.

They won't click with the park brake on

No purple wires involved with park sensors.

If you aren't even getting an error beep, the speakers faulty and an easy and cheap fix.
There will probably another fault after that is fixed!

Hi,
Nope, not disconnected anything. Once were working, then came the beeps and flashing light, now only the flashing light. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

If the speaker is faulty you should recieve an error message on the dash stating that the sensors aren't working (not sure if it's a default message, but for mine when the speaker died it said the front sensors weren't working)

This may help as I've just had a go at mine. It's possibly a common fault with the routing of the wiring loom as when I took my bumper off and had a look someone had done a botched repair before me. However one wire had (once again?) parted company and once replaced my sensors are working fine.

Not a massive job to investigate. Robin

Thanks for the responses.
I don't have the front sensors and no fault codes or warnings coming up on the dash. So it does look like i need to remove the bumper.
