Remote not working

Hi all. So after changing both rear brake lights I have noticed my remote central locking is playing up. I know these vehicles are fussy. Do you think they could be linked ??
I did remove the car battery and short the terminals to reset. But still the same.sometimes it will lock apart from the drivers door unless I press it twice. The tailgate button looks to be working fine. Thanks in advance. New alternator.

Quickest and easiest way to see if your new brake bulbs are causing the issue would be to take them out and see if you still have the same issue. Thumbs Up

Did you use genuine LR brake bulbs? The reason I ask is that I understand these cars are very sensitive to them, and some can cause all sorts of electrical issues. I have always used gen LR bulbs for that reason, they are after all relatively cheap.
Of course, it may have nothing to do the bulbs at all. Good luck.

No. They were brake lights from a set i got from aldi. Haven't used the car for 3 days due to working over the weekend. Today it seems to be working fine. Will have to get some genuine bulbs to replace the ones from my set just in case. Thanks. New alternator.

It's been a while since I bought some, my old D3 tended not to blow them, and I seem to remember they came in packs of 2.
Let's hope it was a one off.

It worked fine yesterday. Today it's playing up. Will get a couple of genuine bulbs. See if that cures it. New alternator.

I've tried to re sync the keys. Followed the procedure. Seems to work. Then if I lock and unlock the doors a couple of times it works fine. But When I come to lock the car the horn beeps at me. I have to start the car then turn it off to lock the car. New alternator.

Dry joint on the battery? I had a similar issue with a key intermittently would not lock/unlock. Replaced the Battery problem went away. Just a guess but key is loosing power, and you are resetting it when you reinsert/restart. I know that I had a bad contact as I use to tap the key on the ground it stated working again.

It lasted for two weeks then went again. All bulbs are fine. Now it's an intermittent fault. Visit to garage I think. New alternator.
